The hotel has a unique charm with its eco-friendly container ship rooms and is conveniently located just steps from the entrance to Manuel Antonio National Park. The rooms are clean with great amenities, including a balcony with fantastic ocean views. However, be prepared for a steep climb to the higher rooms, and the breakfast options could use improvement, especially for vegans.

Rooms

The room was clean, featuring a nice bathroom and an excellent view from the small balcony. However, getting to our room required climbing many stairs, which may be difficult for some guests.
Service
6.0
The staff was friendly and willing to assist with carrying luggage up the steep stairs, but some interactions were less pleasant, particularly regarding upfront payment.
Location

The hotel is perfectly situated right next to the entrance of Manuel Antonio National Park and is within walking distance to beautiful beaches and restaurants.
Dining

Breakfast options were limited, especially for vegans, but there were a few vegetarian choices available.

The pools were clean and offered amazing views, providing a refreshing escape after a day of exploring.

I had a really mixed experience at this hotel. The location is fantastic, right at the entrance of Manuel Antonio Park, with stunning ocean views. However, the quality of service left much to be desired, and my room wasn't as comfortable as I hoped, particularly the sofa bed. Overall, while the scenery was beautiful, the service and some amenities could significantly improve to justify the price.

Rooms
5.0
Our room was decent but the sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable, making for a less than ideal sleeping situation. They could have offered to move us to a better room on our last day since many were free.
Service
5.0
The service was rather disappointing. While some staff were helpful, others were rude when I brought up my concerns, which was very frustrating.
Location
10.0
The hotel's location is unbeatable, just minutes away from the national park and with incredible views of the ocean while dining.
Dining
5.0
Breakfast had good options with fresh fruit, but our dining experience for lunch wasn't great. The meal I ordered was a soggy mess; I expected better quality.
Facilities
6.0
The facilities were adequate, with a lovely pool the kids enjoyed, but overall the hotel felt a bit run down, needing some refurbishment.

I had a lovely 4-night stay at El Faro Beach. The hotel is cleverly designed with shipping containers, adding a quirky touch, and is ideally located right next to the Manuel Antonio National Park. However, the check-in experience was frustrating due to a room lock issue that took too long to resolve. Overall, the staff were friendly, and I enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere, though the narrow rooms and a challenging uphill walk could be a downside for some.

Rooms
7.0
The rooms are clean and comfortable but a bit narrow, making it hard to get in and out of bed from both sides. They did feel a tad humid at times but were otherwise straightforward and had everything needed.
Service
6.0
The staff were quite friendly and always ready to assist. However, the management's response to our initial room issue during check-in was not ideal, which diminished the overall impression.
Location
8.0
The hotel's location is fantastic, being so close to the Manuel Antonio National Park. However, it's a bit remote from the town, requiring you to plan meals accordingly as many places close early.
Dining
8.0
Breakfast was great, with a good selection of options alongside fresh fruit and coffee. The quality was good, making for a pleasant start to each day.
Facilities
7.0
The facilities included two pleasant pools, but the steep hill to the upper rooms could make things challenging without using one of the hotel's golf carts.

I had a really interesting stay at this hotel made of shipping containers, with amazing ocean views and a fun pool area. While the location is perfect for exploring local attractions, there were definitely some housekeeping issues and a lack of responsiveness from the staff that left me wanting more.

Rooms
6.0
The rooms are quite simple and felt mediocre for the price, but the views from my private balcony were fantastic.
Service

The service was hit or miss; some staff were friendly, but I encountered issues with housekeeping and management that were disappointing.
Location

The hotel is situated on a cliff, offering breathtaking views and easy access to nearby Manuel Antonio Park. Just be prepared for some steep walks.
Dining

Breakfast was quite basic and didn't impress me; I expected more variety and quality for the price we paid.
Facilities

The pool area was nice, and the unique concept of using shipping containers is cool, but overall, I think there's room for improvement.

The hotel boasts an incredible location right at the entrance of Manuel Antonio Park, offering breathtaking ocean views from the terrace. However, the service was disappointing due to issues with room upgrades and staff attitude. While breakfast on the terrace was lovely, the room quality left much to be desired, given the price paid. If you're looking for a relaxing setting, you might find this place works, but don't expect the best service or room comfort.

Rooms
5.0
The room we stayed in was quite basic and not particularly inspiring. It felt cramped, and the sofa bed was exceedingly uncomfortable, which is not what I expected given the price. There were other available rooms that could have accommodated us better.
Service
5.0
Service left a lot to be desired. We experienced a room downgrade without any satisfactory explanation, and staff seemed uninterested in addressing our concerns. My expectations were not met, particularly for the price we paid.
Location
9.0
The location is fantastic, just minutes from Manuel Antonio Park, making it perfect for nature lovers. The views from the hotel are stunning, especially while enjoying breakfast on the terrace.
Dining
6.0
Breakfast was served on a beautiful open-air balcony, and while the views were amazing, the food was very basic and didn't quite satisfy. It was made to order, but I expected more variety and fulfillment.
Facilities
6.0
The overall concept of the hotel is interesting, made from repurposed shipping containers, but the facilities felt a bit run down, and in need of better maintenance.
